The present church building was dedicated in November 1909. The building has received remarkable good care since then and the church continues to be relevant and healthy in downtown Aberdeen. |

Whereas many "older downtown" churches are suffering membership loss and structural decay, First UMC is a vital congregation with many community outreach programs. |

The Sanctuary
|
Sunday morning worship has an average attendance of 800; Sunday School is alive and growing with average attendance of 475. |

Tiffany windows are a special blessing in the sanctuary. |
They were placed in our church building in 1909, when the church was dedicated. |

The Dome

In 1976 our church building was named to the National Register of Historical Places. We welcome visitors wishing to tour our facility. |

Chapel of the Apostles
|
The Chapel of the Apostles is located on the north side of hte church. It is used for music programs - Children's Choir, Chancel Choir, Bell Choir and Methodist Brass. |

The lives of the Apostles are depicted in the faceted glass windows. The final window is the Bishop, which represents all the apostles of today. |
